Bolting all the way ..

It took Usain Bolt 9.63 seconds to capture gold in the men's 100-meter race .What are you doing with your own ten seconds? What Jamaica and the rest of the world is celebrating is a result of an effort that took years of hard practice. Before the under ten minutes London Olympic battle  Bolt started with a vision, turned into an action and now it is a living reality and a mark of success. Thousands are inspired, millions will be transformed and billions will believe .More people will take athletics seriously, they will believe, generations to come will stand up and do the Usein Bolt traditional signature diagonally pointing up into the sky like a superhero.Usain Bolt has fulfilled his dream of becoming a “legend” of the sport by successfully defending his Olympic 100m title in stunning style in London. Bolt was only fifth quickest out of the blocks but was quickly into his running and stormed to victory in 9.63 seconds, the second quickest in history and an Olympic record.
In an interview with the BBC News Bolt had the following inspirational worlds to say:
“I was happy,” he told BBC1. “When I went out in the first round I felt I could do this.
“I was slightly worried about my start, I didn’t want to false start again.
“I think I sat in the blocks a little bit so I don’t think it’s the best reaction in the world but I executed and that was the key.
“My coach said, ’stop worrying about the start, the best part of your race is at the end, that’s where you rule’.
“So I stopped worrying about the start and I executed.”
Asked about the people who had doubted him, Bolt said: “I’m not concerned. I’ve said it from the start, people can talk, all they can do is talk.
“I tell you people that when it comes to the championships it’s all about business to me and I brought it.”
Bolt enjoyed the atmosphere of the Olympic Stadium.
“It was wonderful,” he said. “I knew it was going to be like this. There wasn’t a doubt in my mind that it was going to be loud and it was going to be great and you can feel that energy.
“So I feel extremely good and I’m happy.”
Bolt’s oft-stated hopes of becoming a legend had looked in doubt after he lost twice to Blake at the Jamaican trials and needed treatment on a stiff back which was causing hamstring problems.

From the above conversation ,one is challenged to have self examination on what we do with our time ,on what the last tem minutes we have spent could have meant to the world .Bolt only had a few minutes and he successfully converted them to a world record .Remember that if Bolt did it ,you can also bolt with thunder.Be inspired ,follow your dreams and stay motivated for greatness no matter how many eyes are looking at you .

Money :Is it the greatest source of motivation?

Some call it cash money, imali, muler  ,some say its the love of it is the root of all evil whilst others say it makes the world go around. The most interesting thing about money is that some of us cannot leve without it and neither can they live with it for to them its a case of "more money more problems" .Over the years, scholars have argued that: "the greatest source of motivation is money.Well we all need money as a means of exchange and to facilitate trade transactions and a store of value .However ,to a greater extent money has failed to motivate many people for  the greatest motivator is a strong, clear and passionate vision. This surpasses the desire for money or any gain whatsoever!Money cannot buy you a vision but a clear vision can get you money.

Does the world still have visionary leaders?

Visionary leaders are people who do not just paint a picture, but those that paint it and explain it! The whole essence of visionary leadership is rooted in one`s ability to effectively share their vision to others in such that even in their absence what they sought to achieve is achieved by others. The good thing about vision sharing is that you do not need to be there for your vision to be achieved. Most importantly you have to tackle all limitations and turn your tragedies into triumphs. The world has its own standards of determining hero and heroine status but to me it is those leaders that have turned their tragedies into triumphs and dark nights into victory that I believe deserve the status. A blind man`s world is bounded by the limits of his touch; an ignorant man`s world by the limits of his knowledge; a great man`s world by the limits of his vision .Paul Harvey What is vision? Last Friday: Sketches from My Soul, BOOK LAUNCH

·     28 October, 2013 ·    Written by  Chris Nqoe Rain is considered a considered a good sign in African culture and tradition. In equal comparison, time is really not a concept that’s respected by people of African descent.  Now imagine our surprise this past Friday, when right on cue, 5PM to be precise, the heavens above Bulawayo opened up to bless our thirsty city with torrential rain.  The random event organiser would have been caught in a panic, praying to God to cease the floodgates of Heaven and ensure invited guests made it to the Sketches from My Soul book launch at the Bulawayo Theatre. Now picture what actually transpired at the venue of the launch, right under the pouring rain. Guests were instead seemingly oblivious to the rain, posing for close to three photographers on the red carpet, capturing moments that will become WhatsApp avatars and Facebook profile pictures. Book lovers, the literati, media,  poets and Bulaw...
