Advertise to yourself

YOU ARE A BRAND

Apple, Blackberry, Nokia, BMW, Ferrari, Toyota, Chevrolet, Giorgio Armani, Dolce and Gabbana , Gucci, Louis Vuitton ,Ernest and Young, Facebook and Twitter. On a day to day basis we find ourselves exposed to  hearing or seeing most of  the above leading brands. Some brands are specific to countries and are associated with certain groups or classes of people in the society whilst others are popular because of their quality, accessibility, durability, price and who or what people associate them with. One of the most surviving brands is probably the Coca-cola soft drink which and been there since the 1886 and has continued to be consumed  and expand  and command a larger market share. If we can brand product and they become successful, they enrich us why cant we also brand ourselves at  individuals levels?

As human beings we tend to forget that beyond all these man made brands there is a bigger brand and product which is you ,for we are all moving brand ourselves. What or who we are associated with determines if we can have a lasting impression and goodwill  like Coca-cola .Human beings are the most important brand in the world. The difference between influential people and those who are not is in the individual ability to advertise. Before you advertise to other people , you should always start by advertising to yourself as this determines your value as a product.Self advertising increases your level of self-motivation.With levels of self motivation ,we unleash the potential in us ,we expand demand for our services ,we gain competitiveness and remain relevant . We become great brands when we start by advertising to ourselves, for without advertising our goals to ourselves, we fail to realize that it’s our day, our time our moment to succeed. If you don't believe in yourself, who then do you think will do so? As a brand always seek to start the by painting a picture of what you want to achieve. You are the picture frame and the characters in the picture are the people surrounding you .They determine whether the picture is beautiful or dull looking and whether it shall be your own version of  the Monalisa and be marveled at for centuries or it will be a picture to forget .

Money :Is it the greatest source of motivation?

Some call it cash money, imali, muler  ,some say its the love of it is the root of all evil whilst others say it makes the world go around. The most interesting thing about money is that some of us cannot leve without it and neither can they live with it for to them its a case of "more money more problems" .Over the years, scholars have argued that: "the greatest source of motivation is money.Well we all need money as a means of exchange and to facilitate trade transactions and a store of value .However ,to a greater extent money has failed to motivate many people for  the greatest motivator is a strong, clear and passionate vision. This surpasses the desire for money or any gain whatsoever!Money cannot buy you a vision but a clear vision can get you money.

Does the world still have visionary leaders?

Visionary leaders are people who do not just paint a picture, but those that paint it and explain it! The whole essence of visionary leadership is rooted in one`s ability to effectively share their vision to others in such that even in their absence what they sought to achieve is achieved by others. The good thing about vision sharing is that you do not need to be there for your vision to be achieved. Most importantly you have to tackle all limitations and turn your tragedies into triumphs. The world has its own standards of determining hero and heroine status but to me it is those leaders that have turned their tragedies into triumphs and dark nights into victory that I believe deserve the status. A blind man`s world is bounded by the limits of his touch; an ignorant man`s world by the limits of his knowledge; a great man`s world by the limits of his vision .Paul Harvey What is vision? My journey through the African Sketches

"Motivation is spiritual leadership is viral" is a personal statement that I live with, it defines who I am and summarizes my life purpose as a motivational/leadership writer. Now that the book African Sketches has been launched and published, I have set a standard and have left a land mark in the field of writing. The book is my gift to the world .What many people have been interested in ,is how I did it .On that note let me shed some light and say that it is the process that matters the most that the results. I have learnt a lot in the process of writing especially the editing part of it. This is largely because when you write and get to a point where you are content but an editor (in this case Christopher Mlalazi) disagrees with part of your line of thinking and gets some  work deleted in a process called removing the dead wood .This was a painfull process but it was for the best and i ahve learnt that we write better when we allow for critcism and ...
