Motivation: A bit of hope

The story is told of Martin Luther King Jnr who was asked the question : “what would you do if you knew the world was going to end tomorrow ? Luther’s answer was” I would plant an apple tree today’. Hope is about believing that its is still worthwhile to plant an apple tree today even when everyone else is chopping down those trees foe firewood.

There is no doubt we all need a bit of hope to allow us to soldier on .Hope gives us morale ,hope motivates and gives us the reason to hold on to life , even when we encounter hard times .”Hard times never kill “They are meant to strengthen us .Hope re-energizes us .Hope is a process ,it is what the first Black American president Mr. Barrack Obama possessed until the day of his historical victory .

Hope is a choice, everyday we can choose to die or to live .Hope allows us to live life to its fullest no matter hoe daunting the predicament is .Why cant you have a bit of hope in your life .Hope is a mission that has to reach a completion

Money :Is it the greatest source of motivation?

Some call it cash money, imali, muler ,some say its the love of it is the root of all evil whilst others say it makes the world go around.The most interesting thing about money is that some of us cannot leve without it and neither can they live with it for to them its a case of "more money more problems" .Over the years,scholars have argued that: "the greatest source of motivation is money.Well we all need money as a means of exchange and to facilitate trade transactions and a store of value .However ,to a greater extent money has failed to motivate many people for the greatest motivator is a strong, clear and passionate vision. This surpasses the desire for money or any gain whatsoever!Money cannot buy you a vision but a clear vision can get you money.

The influence in a leader

Every song comes from another song, every leader succeeds another, every story end is the beginning of another, every person is from a successfully fertilised sperm and every story repeats and continues another. Likewise success breeds success and so shall the sperm of success when natured, monitored and groomed well it shall produce success. The power of influence can only be useful when put into motion , the same applies with leaders who have influence but don’t direct it towards transforming societies. The power of influence however cannot function without the necessary environment.Influencial leaders are people who are able to create a conducive environment for them to exert that influence, they don’t force people to buy into their vision but their works act as a bait to lure followers. The power of motivation is the positive feeling that we give to others ,that jump- starter ,that push ,that support,that understanding,that voice that says to someone :"Yes you can do it " makes a difference on a daily basis .The power of what we say to others has the potential of nurturing great leaders or to totally destroy them ,for indeed there is power in what we say .As such a good leaders have the ability to motivate ,to acknowledge and appraise good perfomance that is done by others Motivation is spiritual and leadership is viral.Motivation is not a new subject but an old theory which is still practical and relevant in both leadership and management today,tomorrow and in the future.Stay motivated!!
